Description
Set of two Lewis aviation Mark III machine guns.
The Lewis light machine gun is a gas operated, air cooled, full automatic only weapon that fires from an open bolt. It has a fixed barrel surrounded by an aluminum radiator which is enclosed in a tubular barrel jacket. Saw service during WWI and early stages of WWII with land troops, airplanes and even ships.
One of the latest ligthened version of the Lewis Mark I for aviation use.
